Position: Participant and Engagement Intern

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the collective plan of global commitments required to end extreme poverty and hunger, tackle climate change and create a more peaceful, just, and equitable world by 2030. This is a significant multi-stakeholder effort which cannot be delivered by Governments and Civil Society alone. The actions, innovations and finances of the private sector are critical to our ability to deliver. We are looking for the Intern to help support this impact in China where there is an enormous opportunity to achieve the SDGs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Supports outreach and engagement in China through presentations, public engagements, marketing partnerships, etc. to extend the awareness and reach of the UN Global Compact among relevant business audiences;

2.Assistant to attract businesses to join the UNGC through effective communication of the value and support that the UN Global Compact delivers to business participants;

3.Assists in onboarding new business participants, supporting them to make the most use of their participation in the UN Global Compact;

4.Supports in conducting marketing related researches and paperworks to support outreach and engagement campaigns;

5.Helps business participants with ongoing administration and customer support: application review, onboarding, annual reporting, maintaining and updating company profile/contact info, logo requests, etc.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: 

1.A first-level university degree in business administration, management, marketing, social science or a related field;

2.Enrolled at least in an undergraduate program, the graduate program is preferred; 

3.Enrolled in the final academic year of undergraduate/graduate program during internship fulfilment; 

4.Previous work experience in the desired fields is a good add-on, preferably marketing or sales-related jobs;

5.Proficiency in English and Chinese is required.
