The internship is in the Social Media Section, Communications Campaigns Service, Strategic Communications Division of the Department of Global Communications. The section is responsible for social media activities of the Department of Global Communications and the integration of social media platforms, including social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and YouTube, which are critical component of the Department's communications.

The internship is for three (3) months with an opportunity for extension up to six (6) months, depending on the needs of the Division and availability of the candidate.

The internship is unpaid and full-time.

Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, the public information intern may be responsible for the following duties:

- Research, compile, draft and edit basic information for use in the preparation and production of social media content, often under tight deadlines.

- Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content.

- Gather social media content at special events (film screenings, concerts, exhibits, etc.).

- Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and LinkedIn.

- Attend meetings as an observer.

- Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes.

- Assists with special projects as assigned.

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations New York Headquarters Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

1. Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

2. Be computer literate in standard word processing and spreadsheets software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel or similar. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

This announcement broadcasts international internship assignments with the OHCHR

Regional Office for South America (ROSA). Established September 2009 in Chile, the

Regional Office works with governments, parliaments, the judiciary, national human rights institutions, civil society organizations, human rights defenders, regional and international organizations and the United Nations Secretariat to develop and strengthen their capacities, to improve the promotion and protection of human rights, according to international human rights standards. A combination of advocacy on human rights issues of concern and technical support and capacity building with key partners has formed the basis of the Regional Office's work, including with national government authorities, national human rights institutions, civil society and UN agencies and programmes. Covering seven (7) countries, specifically Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay, OHCHR Regional Office for South America coordinates its activities and actions with Headquarters and other field presences. Based in Asunción, Paraguay, under the overall direction of the Deputy Regional Representative, the intern reports to the National Human Rights Adviser in Paraguay. The internship assignment shall be for an initial period of three (3) months, renewable for a combined period of six (6) months, upon further approval by the supervisor, and a scheduled commencement date, ranging/starting from May 2022 to May 2023.

This internship is an UNPAID and full-time engagement that provides a framework through which students from diverse academic backgrounds gain exposure to the work of the United Nations by way of their service within Secretariat entities. This position is located in the Office of the Director in the UN Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), Office of Support Operations (OSO), Department of Operational Support (DOS).

The Department of Operational Support (DOS) was established to provide end-to-end operational support, advisory services and other solutions to operating entities across the Secretariat, including departments, offices away from headquarters, peace operations, and regional commissions.

The Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH) provides services to Secretariat entities as well as to New York-based Agencies, Funds, and Programmes (AFP). The services include medical entitlement administration, occupational safety and health, medical workforce management, clinical governance, UN System Medical Emergency Response Strategy, patient safety and public health. In addition, the Secretariat's counselling services are located within DHMOSH.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time (five days per week), for a minimum duration of three (3) months and can be extended up to six (6) months. Please note that this internship can be fully remote.

Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Medical Director, the incumbent may have responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in development of critical health-related SOPs, plans and guidelines for the DHMOSH in UNHQ and field duty stations;

- Assist in IT-related projects including preparing and analyzing health-related data from online surveys, and statistical and epidemiological review of DHMOSH data sets;

The Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) is recruiting interns for the period from 23 May to 30 September 2022 for its six (6) divisions located in New York. We are seeking highly motivated graduate or undergraduate students who wish to gain professional experience in international law within an international organization in order to supplement their studies. This internship will include practical educational experience which provides the opportunity to work in a multicultural intergovernmental organization. Under the supervision of legal officers, interns will work on projects and tasks assigned by them, which may include assignments that are relevant to their educational background and interests. The interns will have an opportunity to apply and further develop their theoretical knowledge.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of internship positions range widely, encompassing many aspects of OLA's work. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in conducting legal research on issues related to international law and other areas of specialization using multiple research resources;
