Basic Information

Job Title: 2026 Global Intern – Multiple Streams (Corporate & Research/Academic)

Work Location: Beijing, China (Home-based options available for select roles)
Job Type: Full-time
Contract Duration: 3–6 months (start dates: March 18, June 1, or June 29, 2025)
Education & Work Experience:  

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s or PhD program at an internationally recognized institution, with intent to return to studies after the internship;

  • Final-year undergraduate students may be considered for research-focused roles;

  • Preferred fields: Human Resources, Management, Economics, Finance, Political Science, Social Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or related disciplines.

Required Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English
Desired Languages: Chinese, French, Spanish, Arabic, or other UN languages

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, data analysis, and drafting support on sustainable infrastructure, green finance, digital connectivity, and regional development;

  • Contribute to knowledge products such as case studies, policy briefs, best practices, and impact reports;

  • Support project teams in designing and implementing business solutions (Corporate Internship track);

  • Carry out independent or faculty-supervised academic research aligned with AIIB’s strategic priorities (Research Internship track);

  • Assist in preparing communications materials including speeches, social media content, infographics, success stories, and brochures;

  • Collaborate on digital outreach campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and YouTube;

  • Provide administrative and logistical support as needed;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Skills and Experience:

Education:
Applicants must meet one of the following at the time of application:
a) Enrolled in a Master’s or doctoral degree program;
b) In the final year of a Bachelor’s degree program; or
c) Have recently graduated (within the past 12 months) with a relevant degree and be available to start the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience:  

  • Prior internship or work experience in finance, international development, public policy, or consulting is advantageous;

  • Familiarity with infrastructure financing, ESG principles, green bonds, or multilateral development banks is a plus;

  • Experience in data analysis (e.g., Excel, Stata, Python, R) or qualitative research methods;

  • Demonstrated interest in Asia’s development challenges and opportunities;

  • Content creation, graphic design, or social media management skills are valued for communications-related roles.

Language Requirements:  

  • Excellent command of English (written and oral) is required;

  • Proficiency in Chinese or another UN language is an asset.


Financial Issues

  • Interns will receive a stipend of USD 90 per working day, paid monthly;

  • Stipends are subject to applicable taxes and are not provided if the intern is already fully funded by a university, government, foundation, or scholarship program;

  • Interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, health insurance, and visa arrangements;

  • Eligible candidates may also apply for supplementary funding such as the Rongchang Advanced Scholar Fellowship (offered by Fudan University and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission).
